Sein und werden - Être et devenir
FREELENS & HAMBURG PORTFOLIO REVIEW
At the heart of this exhibition lie the forces of transformation that shape our lives—blending the visible with the invisible, the rational with the paradoxical. Where can connections be drawn? When does the quest for belonging lead to tension? Where do magic and the absurdity of everyday life reveal themselves? The Young Professionals of FREELENS and photographers from the Hamburg Portfolio Review turn their gaze toward rituals, contradictions, and the hidden forces shaping human destiny. Their journey spans marginalized identities, the reinvention of everyday life, and the challenges tied to past traditions. It delves into the complex dynamics of isolation and community, as well as the pursuit of love and belonging. The works highlight key aspects of globalization and reflect contemporary political and social challenges. The exhibition also turns its focus to life in Germany: the struggles of integration, the emergence of cultural identity, and the search for shared values. These works bring forth narratives that help shape contemporary German society. Through fragmented perspectives and visual chronicles, the exhibition unfolds as a dialogue on the complexity of human life—inviting viewers to discover new perspectives and question societal realities.
