HFG Offenbach: Fotografie
We do not choose our fathers, but we do choose our teachers. Students become teachers in turn, and the art school emerges as a form of chosen family.
Bringing together four generations of artists connected to the Hochschule für Gestaltung (HfG) Offenbach, this exhibition presents the work of six students and three teachers united by an innovative approach to image-making, as well as a shared commitment to experimentation and critical reflection. A temporary structure installed within the historic space serves as a flexible display system, creating new possibilities for dialogue between works.
Raw, unfinished walls are layered over the existing architecture, generating new spatial configurations and opening a field of inquiry into artistic lineages, influences, and affinities between individuals and their practices.
The exhibition remains in a constant state of transformation. During the opening week, works are presented in daily changing pairings, creating new encounters and perspectives each day. Afterwards, authorship and control are deliberately loosened: visitors are invited to intervene, rearrange, and propose new configurations. Through these layers, overlaps, and evolving relationships, the exhibition makes visible the artistic influences and visual kinships that connect generations, rendering them physically tangible within the scenography itself.
