Sangre Blanca
The Lost War on Cocaine
The insatiable appetite for cocaine in the United States and Europe has led to unprecedented levels of production of this mythical drug. Ordinary Colombians are paying a high price. This report dives into the murky depths of the cocaine trade and exposes the human consequences of the party drug of choice. Until now, the international response has been a mixture of prohibition, harsh punishment and bloody military campaigns raging in the Colombian countryside. The project Sangre Blanca - the true price of cocaine is a unique collaboration between Colombian artist Juan Arreaza and Danish photographer Mads Nissen.
