Luces Distantes
Since 2020 Marc Lathuillière has been weaving a creative alliance with the Afro-descendant community of La Madre Unión, in northern Colombia. Organized as a Biodiversity Zone, forbidden to any arms-bearers,
this community tries to defend its lands, jungle and wetlands, against deforestation, agro-industrialists and narco-paramilitaries who try to wrest away by force. In this context of invisibilized conflict that, the artist invents, with the villagers, media of environmental resistance associating photographs, films, writings and performative
forms.
