Quinquina Diaspora

Samir LAGHOUATI-RASHWAN

Quinquina Diaspora, is a conversation without language between two plants. Their subtitled exchanges are the echo of their respective memories. Completely realized in 3D, the quinquinas (plants from which is extracted the quinine present in the tonic) are almost identical reproductions almost identical reproductions of real plants. They try, thanks to the presence of the other, to remember their history through voices that we cannot hear: those of the plants’ silent voices of the plants. They speak of their forced displacement, their geographical origin and their massive and massive implantation in
many colonized countries.
