Created in 2010, the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation supports committed artists whose work offers a unique perspective on the contemporary world. Through photography and documentary film, the Foundation supports projects that question social, cultural, political and ecological realities on an international scale.
By promoting demanding documentary approaches, the Foundation works to highlight often marginalised narratives and foster a better understanding of the human dynamics at work in the world.

A new chapter for the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation

A new era begins with the arrival of Peruvian philosopher and photographer Alejandro León Cannock as director of the Manuel Rivera-Ortiz Foundation.

His international career, spanning exhibition curating, academic research and artistic creation, reinforces the Foundation's commitment to critical photography. Particular attention is paid to image education, supporting new talent and contemporary political issues, both locally and internationally.
