Philippine Schaefer combines the organic with photographic technique. She is interested in the way light modifies the appearance of bodies. Fragments of the living, organic elements such as branches, sand and flowers, combine intimately with the geography of her often fragmented body. An image-mue of infinite variations becomes possible. Images are born in the darkroom, each print a unique proof.
